blueThing and redThing are compact multi-standard
SD/HD-SDI to DVI-I converters for all common LCD and plasma
monitors.
High quality proprietary spatial and temporal video processing
provides superior frame rate conversion and scaling in addition to
de-interlacing. Aspect ratio is preserved by detecting anamorphic
inputs and the resolution of the connected display.
Both models incorporate support for
an In Monitor Display (IMD) which enables the
insertion of a label and tallies below the image being viewed for
identification purposes.
By combining these
converters with one of Television Systems Tallyman
®
TM1 or
TM2 controllers you will be able to update the IMD
as the source fed to the converter changes. This IMD functionality is an
essential part of any broadcast or production
environment as it easily enables the source, destination
or use of the images being viewed to be identified.
In addition to providing high quality SD/HD-SDI to DVI-I conversion,
blueThing also includes AES/S-PDIF digital, analogue, and headphone
audio outputs for monitoring or de-embedding.
This blueThing audio functionality
includes support for varying the audio output delay.
Using this feature you can compensate for the propagation delay
through monitors and projectors to ensure that correct audio and
video synchronisation is maintained. This is
essential for maintaining lip sync in monitoring and
presentation environments, and in post-production
environments ensures that both audio and video are
edited frame accurately.
